why are there train horns blasting in First Ward?

First Ward was built in between 3 train tracks. one has been converted to a bike trail. The others have closed off side streets to increase community safety. There was also a quiet zone implemented to winnow the extraneous horn blasts. Occasionally, there will be obstructions on the tracks that require a blast to clear tracks. for more information on how quiet zones work, go to the site listed below.
